I'd have thought a requirement for a GH hits album was 9 or 10 well known songs. Oasis can get away with it, even the Spice Girls can. Sophie Ellis Bextor and Jamelia, IMO, cannot. EDIT: I think Natalie Imbruglia's GH's is also very premature. It's like the label didn't know what musical direction Sophie should go in so they made her do everything. Buy adobe cs6 for mac. The result is a chaotic triumph. Her pop was quite weird and edgy, but now it's plain disco pop. I still rate Read My Lips very highly. It had everything. The look, the style, the great videos. Catch You is one of the worst, dullest pop videos I've seen in years. Who came up with that shit? They needed a Take Me Home style masterpiece! They had this female singer who had a distinctive voice and had just come from a mildly successful indie Britpop group, so they were faced with a conundrum, and the result is a complete winner. Sophisticated, and yet tongue-in-cheek, with smatterings of indie and trip-hop, and a determined, 'non-manufactured' attitude towards 'pop' music made her stand out. I actually think the original is even better as a cohesive album, before they added 'Get Over You' and 'Music Gets The Best Of Me.' I love 'Catch You,' but it's blatantly obvious that Fascination didn't think any of Sophie's co-writes were lead single material, so bought in a Cathy Dennis track. Re: Read My Lips. It is possibly my favourite album of all time, definetly my favourite pop album. It's so consistant, and I don't dislike a single song. One of those albums that you can have for years and you'll have a different favourite each time you listen to it. I seriously hope this greatest hits does the business for her. She's an amazing popstar, and I get the feeling that even if it doesn't catapult her into supertardom again, then she'll get dropped and do her own thing on a smaller label. She seems very passionate about music, and I don't think not having a record deal will stop her releasing.
